Tanja Johansson

Tanja Johansson (D.Sc. Econ.) currently works as a Vice Dean of the Sibelius Academy of the Uniarts Helsinki being responsible of the Faculty of Music Education, Folk Music, Jazz, Global Music, Music Technology, Arts Management, Doctoral School MuTri and the Seinäjoki Unit. She has previously worked as a professor and lecturer of arts management and leading the departments of Arts Management and MuTri Doctoral School. Johansson has a  background both in music, business administration and research. Her research interests consist of opera and music centre management, critical management studies, the institutional context of arts organisations, the role of festivals in regional development, cultural joint ventures, and organisational ethnography. She has published in most leading arts management journals, such as the International Journal of Arts Management, Journal of Arts Management, Law and Society, Event Management, and Creativity and Innovation Management. Johansson also acts as an Editor-in-Chief of the European Journal of Cultural Management and Policy.
