Policy Officer DG EAC, European Commission

With a background in European policies, social sciences and humanities, and an extensive work experience on cultural policies at European level, since 2020 working as Seconded National Expert at the Cultural Policy Unit of the European Commission, DG EAC, in charge of cultural heritage, research and innovation and the cultural dimension of sustainable development.

Main responsibilities and roles include leader of the member states’ Open Method Coordination (OMC) group of experts on Culture and Sustainable Development; coordinator of culture and cultural heritage research topics in Horizon Europe’s Cluster 2 “Culture, Creativity and Inclusive Society”; policy manager of the CHARTER Project on a sectoral skills alliance for cultural heritage.

Previous expertise range from science advice to policy on culture and cultural heritage, interregional cultural cooperation and participatory governance of culture in regional and European programmes and partnerships, as well as training and support to regional administrators, researchers and cultural professionals in building European consortia under EU funded calls for culture and cultural heritage.

Previous roles: Cultural Advisor on culture and research at European level for the regional government of Tuscany; Scientific Coordinator for Humanities at Science Europe; President’s Spokesperson at the European Economic and Social Committee.
