Julian Philipp is a Research Associate and PhD candidate at the Chair of Tourism / Center for Entrepreneurship at Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt (KU), Germany. Prior to joining this institution, he did a B.Sc. in Business & Economics at University of Wuppertal, Germany, with a semester abroad at San Diego State University, California, United States. In 2020, he completed the M.Sc. program “International Hospitality, Events and Tourism Management” at Oxford Brookes University, United Kingdom, with Distinction. At KU, his research and publications focus on destination governance, destination development, integrated location and destination management, entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial ecosystems, with a particular focus on the role of local identity and identification in the development of spatial ecosystems and ecosystems of hospitality.
