No, it is not a requirement to be an ENCATC member to access the 2022 ENCATC Congress. However, Congress participants have a special rate to register as new members. Not yet a member? ENCATC accepts applications for new membership year-round! Apply here!

The working language is English. Unfortunately, simultaneous translation will not be available.

No, you can’t. The 40 grants offered by ENCATC are aimed only for PhDs who attend the YERF and through that get access to the whole Congress: participants at a reduced fee and speakers for free. The grant is not targeted for participants/speakers attending the Education and Research sessions on Day 1.

  • The Young and Emerging Researchers’ forum is open to young researchers. According to the European Charter for researchers, a “Young researcher / Early career researcher” is a researcher during the first five years (full-time equivalent) of their research activity, including the research training period. This can be considered up to 35 years of age. Please note that this category is not eligible to present papers in the ENCATC Research Session.

 

  • The Research Session is open to experienced researchers. According to the European Charter, an experienced researcher is a researcher with at least four years of research experience (full-time equivalent) after obtaining a university degree giving them access to doctoral studies in the country in which the university degree was obtained, or researchers already holding a doctorate, regardless of the time taken to obtain this doctorate degree. This can be considered someone aged 35+.

 

  • Emerging researchers in the ENCATC frame are considered confirmed professionals who intend to continue or enter into research/policy-oriented careers after several years of practice. The emerging researcher has no limit of age. Emerging researchers are eligible to present their papers to the Research Session.

Please do not book a hotel in Antwerp.

We recommend you book your accommodation in Brussels, preferably close the following metro stations, as they are all close to the Congress’s main venue:

  • Louiza/Louise – metro, bus and tram station
  • Naamsepoort/Porte de Namur – metro and bus station
  • Troon/Trône – metro and bus stop

No, the registration will be available only online until Thursday, the 13 of October.

It is not, however, if you book accommodation close to the stations of Louiza/Louise, Naamsepoort/Porte de Namur or Troon/Trône you will be located within walking distance from the main Congress venue. 

On Day 1 of the Congress, transport for Brussels-Antwerp, Antwerp-Brussels will be arranged by ENCATC.
